Paris

Last Thursday we went to Paris with the school. We travelled by bus, and it took us approximately 4 and a half hours to get there. We left the school by 7, so we did not arrive in Paris before noon. But we had plenty of time to see a lot of tourist attractions as well as walking the streets of Paris. While we were in Paris, we were divided into our French groups. My group (French 1) started the adventure by travel the channels of Paris by boat, were we saw the most important monuments, such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame etc. The sun was shining so the boat trip was a definite success. Afterwards we walked towards arch of triumph, on our way there we walked by the Louvre and Champs-Élysées. I enjoyed the beatifuul weather, and I want to go back there soon.

MTV

OMG, We are so sorry that we have not blogged in a while! But to make it up to you, we are now posting an awesome post about MTV! WEHOO. However, MTV is an American cable television channel based in New York City, that launched August 1, 1981. The channels original purpose was to play music videos guided by on-air hosts.

MTV primarily broadcasts a variety of popular culture and reality-television shows targeted at teenagers and young adults. The channel still plays a limited selection of music videos.

Ingeborg and I are both huge fans of MTV, and there are innumerable times where we have ended up sitting watching ''16 and pregnant'' all night long. The show is about young girls struggling with the challenges of teenage pregnancy, and every week there is a different girl, and hardly any of them are considering having an abortion or giving the baby away. This is a typical MTV program, which is very shocking and catches a lot of attention. Another MTV show we like to watch is ''The Hills'' which follows wealthy, pretty people´s fabulous lives, as they work with fashion in Los Angeles.

MTV has a long history of hosting live music events in which awards are handed out, and today the network produces over 20 award shows annually. In 1984 the channel established MTV Video Music Awards show, to celebrate and award the top music videos of the year. The show developed into a music-industry showcase marketed as a more youth-targeted alternative to the Grammy awards. The award show is presented annually and broadcasted live on MTV. We really enjoy watching this show as well, because it keeps us updated in the music-world and all the artists presented are world famous. We have to go eat, so goodbye, snaiks.

Radio Luxembourg

This week we're doing a project about Radio Luxembourg for our English class. In 1933, the radio station got started as one the earliest commercial radio stations broadcasting to Britain. Radio Luxembourg was also important in the development of pirat radio and modern commercial radio in the UK.

Violence in films

Our topic of the week is still violence in films, but we soon realized that we're not that big on violence. So after a long discussion about which movie we should mention, we decided to go with Troy. In this movie there is a lot of fighting and blood.

Even though there is violence in this film, Hanna quite enjoys it because you can also see Brad Pitt's ass. Still, Hanna's favorite movie is Harry Potter, and she still thinks Voldemort is violent with all his killing spells. One example of this is the Avada Kadavra spell which kills people instantly.

Even though we don't enjoy that much violence, we don't think that it affects people that much. In some films, for example historical films, violence in an important factor.

But now our lesson is finished so we have to go..

Snaiks

After Christmas

After a great holiday we're finally back blogging :) We've both been in Norway with our families celebrating Christmas. Hanna came back complaining about her terrible gifts and Ingeborg got a new phone which is way too complicated. Hanna is really jealous of Ingeborg and is just grumpy all the time.
Today we got a topic of the week for our blogging. Our English teacher gave it to us so we'll do our best. Our topic is violence in films.
Hanna wants to write about Harry Potter because she thinks Voldemort is scary, but Ingeborg does not agree.. She thinks it's stupid..
